First Weaving

•April 15, 2012 • Leave a Comment

I had a wonderful day yesterday. I spent the whole day and Woven Art in Lansing MI learning to weave on a ridge heddle loom! I made a scarf which I personally think came out Perfect if you consider I hadn’t even touched (or even gotten very close to) a loom before today. I thinking of adding Swarovski crystals to the fringe to make it even more eye catching.

Ok so there are going to be some changes to this blog BECAUSE I DON’T WANT TO START ANOTHER BLOG lol. I’ve decided this is not going to be just Amigurumi since I’ve branched out big time in the fiber arts so this blog will be about all of that. Spinning, crochet, knitting, felting, sewing, embroidery, tatting, and who knows maybe somewhere down the line weaving and lace making.

So I’ll be posting about any new fibers or yarns or other fiber related things I get here along with all my finished works.

So since I’ll be winding yarn tomorrow I’ll also try and take some pictures of my most recent acquisitions and post them in the next day or 2 (I hope TT_TT so bad at this blog stuff)

lol as with my other blogs I’m failing to get them going I truly think that even though I would really love to have some awesome blogs going  and even though I have things I could be posting about I just get to distracted with everything else that months and months go by and I don’t do anything with them.  However since I’m making Friday blog day (and Brian is going to help me to keep on it lol) I hope that with time blogging will become a habit and I wont just let them die off.

As far as amigurumi go I haven’t been doing much besides working on the base of my fairy doll and not very often at that. I have a few things planned for Halloween however I’m not sure I’ll get many done with me moving house at the end of the month. I do have a list for X-mas that I will be trying hard to finish in time. I’ve gotten a few things to help me out in both my blogging and amigurumi so once we move I will be posting more.

Late Valentines post

LOL I’ve not been posting on here or anywhere hardly at all for a few reasons but soon this will become one of my main priorities. On the plus side I have no fan/reader base so I’m not letting anyone down haha hopefully that will change once I start adding sutff (waiting for new camera and photography light tent set up to provide me with good pictures)

So anyway I did post a lot hearts on my etsy for Valentines haha 1 sold the other are just sitting there but hey they are sitting in the finished amigurumi box all nicely packed up so there is always next valentines. Since I want this blog to be a showcase of all my amigurumi I’m going to post the pictures of the hearts here. However when I retake the pictures of them I’ll update the post.

So here goes.

SO they are up on my etsy now however when they expire I’ll leave them expired till next valentines ^_^

Edit:

My cream heart is being featured here:

Shipment to Canada Finished

•January 25, 2011 • 2 Comments

And going to be sent out tomorrow

This order has taken a lot (way to much) time to finish. So I’m not going to be taking very many commissions, While making these 4 amigurumi I was putting everything thing else I wanted to make down on a list and that list is huge. So as far as commissions go I’ll take them but they will take a while to finish and I’ll just have to let anyone who was a commission know that lol.

Well on to the good stuff PICTURES! Oh yeah I actually have pictures this time hehe so here they are:

that’s Gir and while sewing him together I was just going Gerrrr the whole time. Maybe it’s me or maybe it’s the pattern I bought but the head of this Gir is horrible and I can’t stand it. Now I finished him and he is going to his new owner mainly because i can’t stand to look at him anymore LOL however first off Brandon is a great friend of mine and I told him all about it, and second since producing something that isn’t the best i can do to sell to someone just makes me really really mad I’ve decided to make my own Gir pattern and once it’s perfected Brandon gets one free of charge ^_^

Next:

This cute adorable little cow turned out perfect (so did the next 2 which was the only consoling things about Gir is that how could it be me when these others turn out great) I love her and I’ll probably be making another one in brown.

I got the pattern from here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Janagurumi

She doesn’t care if you sell them at craft shows which is a little silly if you ask me cause how could she know if you are or not but she doesn’t want you to sell them online. I understand that and can agree with it but she doesn’t make the finished animals to sell herself and I know a lot of ppl who would want one but couldn’t crochet to save their lives. So I’m not going to make tons of them to sell but if you really want one and she wont make it for you I will so if you are seriously interested in one I’ll charge you the same I charged Brandon for it $20.

Next:

This is about the 10th little baby dragon I’ve made since I started making amigurumi. He was the 2nd one I ever made then I went crazy and made tons for everyone I knew lol. The pattern for this little guy was free however I printed it out years ago and the website on the print out doesn’t have it anymore so if anyone comes across it online please let me know the link.

Next:

This guy is soooo cute and I made up the pattern for him myself. To me he is the cutest chicken I’ve seen yet. Only problem I have with him is his wings I’ll have to think of something else because you can barely see them but I still LOVE him hehe and I’m going to be making another one to site on my desk (along with making another one for the etsy) The wonderful artist of http://berrysprite.blogspot.com/ posted this very cute baby chick amigurumi on her facebook here:  http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/berrysprite.shop

Also for the cute little cow, dragon, and chicken I colored the eyes myself and I plan to be able to start selling the eyes by the end of Feb. :D

so shortly they will be on their way to their new home in Saskatoon (oie) and if he gives me a picture of them in their new habitat I’ll post it later on ^_^

So now I can work on the list that’s growing and growing starting with the Valentines stuff ^^

Hugs and Kisses!
